Some things to add to the review :-
The cut out on the Rane is to access the lid catch.
The greater angle of the Rane limits how much the lid opens when a case is fitted. Although its just about ok its a point you need to be aware of.
Some people get concerned that these stands tip forward easily. The Rane doesn't have this issue. Personally I have no experience with the Griffin but have had the Rane for a year and still happy with it.
