Since you asked, my advice would be to use as large a dynamic range as possible. Make your louds as loud as you can without sounding crass, and make your quiets as quiet as you can play with good control. Make a large difference between accents and non-accents, and just make sure everything on the page is audible. And remember, music should be fun :)
