Arriving at Utah Beach for the first time ever, we toured the northern sector called Tare Green at exit 4. The W10 German gun fortification is still very intact.

  • Thank you all! When I visited Europe, traveling by RV, I had the ability to modify my schedule easily. I ended up in Normandy for many days more than I first intended. It was worth it and I can't wait to get back!

  • @ww2pat

Sorry to correct you a little bit, but this is NOT the place we call Utah-Beach. It's the landing place of

the 2. armoured Division of the french General Leclerc. Utah is a view miles south, near La Madelaine

..... landing in Normandy on 1 August 1944, his 2nd Armored Division participated in the battle of the Falaise Pocket (12 to 21 August), and went on to liberate Paris (Wiki)

  • @seibelstein Thank you for this!!
