@acanthe83 What can I do if my French is not good enough to explain it and you don't understand my English?CTs and just pop falsettists isn't the same thing.PJ isn't a classically trained CT,but a POP FALSETTIST who sings in a FLAT voice and should stay in his pop category with Vitas,Klaus Nomi,Artem Semenov,Greg Prichard. There are many men who can sing in FALSETTO, but very few can have all THREE well developed registers - high, middle and LOWER. Without LOW notes there's no baroque and no CT!
@acanthe83 I distinguish CTs from falsettists. You just didn't understand. If you pretend that you know something about REAL countertenor singing how can you mention that overpromoted POP FALSETTIST PJ among real CTs?He is just a COMMERCIAL pop singer whom they infiltrated into CT world to attract more people to the theatre and concert halls to make MONEY on their ignorance as the majority can't hear what FLAT voice is in which PJ sings.Real CTs don't sing on only HIGH notes. It isn't baroque!
@acanthe83 What nonsense! What is this real countertenor? Only he who sings in his so called natural unbroken voice like Oberlin? There are only several like him in the world. But he is not superior to CTs who use some kind of falsetto as for me he just sounds UGLY, and not manly at all, like a cat pulled by the tail! Kowalski sounds beautiful, but of late his voice has weakened, and he uses some kind of falsetto too. For me the main thing is BEAUTY of the sound. And here Cencic "beats" Oberlin!
I've just received this CD Farnace with Cencic in the title role! It's great! But this aria is given in the set as a bonus and intended to be sung as a tenor by Pompeo in a different version of this opera made by Vivaldi himself. Cencic is great! Actually, I'm dreaming of listening to Cencic in a duet not with that notorious pop falsettist PJ on his new CD, but with REAL countertenors like my favorites Daniel Taylor, Jose Lemos, Nicholas Spanos, Matthew White. He deserves better partners than PJ
