@lantyboy Yep, but you do realize that it's practice 5 watts tube heads we're talkin' about? BTW, yes, this one is fairly high gain and yes, it handles Metallica quite well (maybe pushed by a pedal for extra-balls). You can nail decently all of that without peeling the fur off your cat or being shot point blank by your neighbour the next time you take out the garbage.

@Orbsee If I'm not mistaken the combo mounts 10" speakers. I bought a cabinet separately (a 2x12 with Celestion Vintage 30) so I think that tonally there's a sensible difference. But it's not the head, it's the speakers. I heard that the combo might sound a little bit boxy and lose some low end compared to the head through a 1x12 or 2x12.

@8ulls3y3 Really? Cause in the Blackstar HT-5r there is a "tone" control for clean and EQ only for distortion channel :(

A randall valve amp? HAHA let me get right one that, next i'll hook up a metal zone pedal and dime the gain. Why would ANYONE willingly buy a randall valve amp when there are many better to be had at their price?
Before you try to mention anything about knowledge with amps, I own all kinds of valve driven amps of varying wattages. High Wattage does NOT mean High Gain. the Valveking is utter shit, btw. If you're going to buy a peavey do yourself a favor and buy a 6505.

@lemop Hi mate! The Harley Benton is surprisingly good. Well, not 'that' surprisingly since it mounts Celestion Vintage 30s (be careful, there's a version with no Celestions that looks the same but is obviously cheaper) and the construction is sturdy. It even looks good. I think that a 5w like this could keep up with very small, very quiet jazz club situations. The clean breaks up soon. It has the PA/Headphone exit with speaker simul. but it excludes the speakers, which is a letdown IMHO.

Hiya, nice vid! I'm looking at getting the exact same amp set up you have here! how do you rate the Harley benton? How much clean volume can you get out of it? i'd imagine its not too much but would it keep up with small jazz group stuff?
Thanks!
Hey may I ask why you have the amp sitting on top two pieces of wood, to avoid overheating?? Great playing and sound!

@GreaterThan03 Hi mate, thanks! Actually when I took that picture the head was just placed on a shelf, as I was waiting for the cab to arrive. ^__^ Anyway, I don't put anything between the head and the cab, it hasn't given me any problems of overheating - it warms just a little bit.
