Western companies know what's going on, and their governments know, but the UAE gets away with this kind of slavery. I wouldn't mind in some ways working in the UAE, but I would want these workers to get paid more, have more food, and work less than 12 hours a day!!!

Most of these "oil rich" people in Dubai are really barbaric peasants - easy to "play" civilized in a country that is really rotten > poor people have no rights, specially imigrant workers who are treated almost as slaves. In others words they are been used because they are poor.

Hey some of you rotten muslim arabs from there, come to any country in Scandinavia (Finland, Sweden, Denmark or Norway) and here you will get treated what you are really worth - pieces of uncivilized dogs of the earth

I have seen film over latins slaves working illigal along with the mexican border in very very larg fields harvesting nuts and other products.In the night they sleep in the self digged holes , like they have found the sadam finally in.

those contractors are probably all american companies, they know damned well what they are doing, people get offended to see dubai being build by people under these circumstances, basically slaves, then they go to walmart and spend their paycheck on goods made by people who are paid 10 US dollars a week to assemble the goods...
