Not everyone can add a Switch for the Charger wire but that is what I would recommend doing. This way you can switch off the wire that goes to the Battery. Also you can do this at the charger it self and all the other items that run off Battery power will still be filtered through the battery. This is only needed if you are a FULL timer. You can still check the Battery level from your gague in your RV. I have mine set up this way and LOVE that I don't Cook batterys any more. Good RVing
