Anyone that uses a gps as sole or primary source of directions is a damn fool.
They are hardly accurate or even able to connect in the mtns. They are useless in very cold weather as the crystal screens cannot operate at very low temps and battery output diminishes greatly. They are useless in very hot weather for the same screen reason and electrical resistance failure and battery heat failures. Internal maps are very often incorrect. Hence the 2500 word disclaimer fine print with every gps.

These are the type of people who would die in the bush when their battery dies.

Pencil, pad, SLR, dress pants and sneakers.
I get the feeling I wouldn't want to hike with her.

I agree with the others, absolutely no one carries a memo pad and writes down waypoint labels. thats done on the gps.
people are going to get the idea that geotagging is a bulky cumbersome task from this video.

Most modern smartphone have geotagging as standard nowadays, i personally use a nokia 5800 with googlemaps for my main gps, navigating tool.
A freeloader solar charger ensures i have lots of spare power should i need it.
