Question: I'm growing tomatoes in 5 gallon pails, and the first few tomatoes have what I believe to be Blossom End Rot. Have you heard of or experienced this? Also, I read online that adding Epsom salt to the soil when planting in the spring can prevent BER. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

I appreciate your help but you take way to long to make a point. People are so busy today, I am not able to watch the next 14 minutes...so I am leaving at 10 minutes. You couldn't have made the points well in 10 minutes on this--? I think so.
Time is at a premium for many of us, please try and watch the time! But thank you for your info.

Do you also use Blood Meal and Bone Meal supplements?

In general, no. There have been some isolated incidents (usually when a organic fertilizer that contains some blood and/or bone meal was given to me) when I have used it, but in general, I do not use it.

Is there anyway to know if a plant is determinate or not when you dont have any idea what tomato your growing? By leaves, etc?
CanadianPatriot1973 8 months ago
Im no tomato expert.. but what I have noticed is that determinate plants sometimes have thicker stems, and they do not tend to grow as fast. (thus staying more compact)

Is there a way to grow or do-it-yourself Mycorrhiza? $ is tight, so looking for ways to so it myself to save money. Any ideas?

Yes! I was going the mention this in the video.. Go to someones house that uses Mycorrhizae and get some of their soil, and then put that soil in your garden. Their soil will contain the beneficial fungi and will innoculate your soil. when you add it to yours. Another way, is go to the forest with undisturbed soil and get some soil from nature. Of course, its best to purchase small amounts of Mycorrhizae to ensure consistant results. As YMMV with the other methods.
