Part one of a documentary short centering on a family of Dominican immigrants living in Brooklyn, New York, as a profile of the immigrant experience of being caught between two worlds. Made as a senior thesis film project at Loyola Marymount University in spring 2007.

  • This video is very insightful and shows us the struggles many immigrants (not just dominicans) go through. From struggling in the Dominican Republic to arriving to a different country, its really nice to see a family share their story. Unlike many other videos on youtube which showcase the opposite of what dominican are, this video is really close to home. I lived there for two years and my parents were born there. This is kind of like what my parents went through.

  • Nicely done, I enjoyed watching this. Even though I was born in the US, both of my parents were born in the Dominican Republic. I've been told stories of the things they had to go through when they first came to the US, but this movie made me appreciate those stories even more. I think about how much my parents have to work and makes me want to work harder to better our future. Thanks for this :)
