@SnowGui they were based at stockport,
they have since been bought out by bmw i think (not sure)
and there plant has been closed, and all of the staff have either been made redundant, or are about to

sadly all gone now! a mates dad worked there in the spares dept it was Mirlees Blackstone . Then in its last incarnation was ALSTOM / MAN ENGINES . Its a housing estate now.

Nice engine, looks well maintained.
But the missing insulation on the exhaust system would never have been aproved by the Lloyds register if it had been installed in a sea going vessel.

Yeah... but surely in the boat the exhaust was insulated.

This engine was a auxiliary generator on a british transport boat. And now a auxiliary generator on a hospital. I took the video there during a maintenance electric shut down.
