  • You can get an idea on the value of your mill from the sawmill exchange. They sell sawmills from all over the country and they have hand set mills. I'm looking for a log deck and log turner if you have one. good luck.

  • Yes, the building is done. I need to post another video. I'll try to do it soon.

  • Its a Hercules 6 cly. I saved it from the scrap yard. It was Natural Gas but I put on a Ford truck carb and it works great. I use the saw dust for horse bedding. I use the horse to pull the logs.

  • primitive yet AWESOME! lol I want that machine!

  • @jsmythib

Thanks, I love it. Its lots of fun to run! I since finished the roof. I'll try to update the video.

  • Nice mill, Just a quick question, we have similar mill that we are looking to sell, any idea what the value of one of these would be, i know its early 1900's and we even have the manual. last time it ran i think was in the early 90's. thanks

  • Hey Jeff, nice work. It looks like you have a smooth working mill. Good job. I'm looking forward to an update.

I just got my mill running a few weeks ago. Check out my videos... I'm steam powered.

  • Very nice work! Your building must be done by now!

  • @jimbojamesIV I should have continued watching because the 3-4:00 minute mark appears to show you manually adjusting the log after each cut?

  • Do you have to continuously readjust the log being cut?

My question is how is the log continuously adjusted to make the same width cuts?

  • What type of engine do you use?

  • Sweet! This is a real sawmill, I don't like the mills with the saws that move over the log. I want to build one like this.
