@kakashifreak111 Oh it wouldn't be anything to be concerned about, but slicing through something like bamboo is done using proper form and technique (you pull the blade back as you swing to create a slicing motion instead of a blunt chopping motion). If you examine the blade of a sword used to cut something using both techniques, you'll notice the wear on the one who chopped instead of sliced. Also, it has a much smoother and more balanced appearance. You could wipe off the wear though. Easy.
... there's a championship for cutting through bamboo? How is it scored? I hope they examine the blades afterward for damage to the edge, that'd be the most obvious sign of improper technique, and some of those kids looked like they were flailing just a little bit. They were throwing themselves off balance trying to make the strikes look flashier (or whatever the reason was why they were striking faster than their coordination could keep up).
More of an interest in swords in general. I'm primarily focused on studying European swords and swordsmanship, particularly around the medieval period.
ok have it your way, me saying "i disagree" provokes argument (therefore the point of me saying it), which was my intention. so have a look at us, it worked didnt it?

Oops, that should be swords cutting through guns, my apologies. I confront that argument a lot so I defaulted to that line!
