My grandson Ian has decided he wants to be a horse trainer, and this is his first day at working with one of our 4 month old Gypsy Horse weanlings colts, named Bandit. Ian is trying to teach Bandit to halter, Lead, and accept his touch. He has watch quiet a few of the Clinton Anderson and Parelli Video's and is trying to do it the natural horsemanship way. Ian has not handled horses himself before today. He has watched me handle them during the summer last year and this year (as he just comes to visit for the summer - he is from the city), but he has never really had hands on, doing it himself. If you notice in the background you will see cans and plastic bottles on strings, Ian thought it would be a good way to get them use to weird noies. What a bright boy to think about doing something like that :) Bandit and Ian seem to have a good connection and work well together. I am very proud of my grandson and of this very handsome colt Bandit. Bandit's color is a Bay Pearl Tobiano, and he is out of our Buckskin Pearl Tobiano Stallion "Love Biscuit" and his Dam is our mare "Rambling Gypsy Ruby". Bandit has been sold, but we have many more colt, fillies, mares and our stallion for sale. Check them out at our website: www.LuckyCharmRanch.com
Gretchen, he is a natural. So cute! Great timing wtih the release of pressure as soon as the horse did even the slightest thing he was asking. Impressive! :)
