Why can't a developer simply make a petrol or diesel powered car that seats one or two people, weighs less than 500 kg and has an engine which provides enough power and torque to move the car on normal roads? Next time you drive look at how many four seat vehicles on the road have the driver as the only occupant.If engineered correctly such a car could easily get in excess of 100 mpg.

Aptera goes belly up, bust, out of business. Why am I not surprised?! because they have had this car delayed so many times for over half a decade. This car was NEVER going to happen. If i didn't know better, i'd say they were attempting a 'Solyndra' scam. Too bad they didn't get their first, huh? These bone heads could have build a car that got 100mpg on dog piss in the time they took to make excuses for not selling this car. I got burned for years for saying this EXACT THING WOULD HAPPEN. LMFAO

No, natural gas and petroleum are both hydrocarbons, but natural gas is usually methane and petroleum is mostly octane (I think). Natural gas is found sometimes when oil is drilled, but I'm pretty sure it isn't a derivative of petroleum.
