This documentary is presented here in a total of 12 segments. This is part #1. Click on this web link for part #2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfhajL3ihck

This is a 1979 documentary of the band ROCKPILE - Dave Edmunds, Nick Lowe, Billy Bremner and Terry Williams.

The documentary was shot at Eden Studios in London, England as the band were recording material for Dave Edmunds' 1979 album "Repeat When Necessary" and Nick Lowe's 1979 album "Labour of Lust".

The footage shown in this documentary features Rockpile recording three songs: "Born Fighter", "Endless Grey Ribbon" and "Sweet Little Lisa".

If you listen closely at the beginning of this segment, you will hear Nick Lowe singing a song titled "How Do you Talk To An Angel?" Lowe himself would not record this song until the mid-1980s for his solo album "The Abominable Showman".

Be on the lookout during the recording footage of "Sweet Little Lisa" for such notable musicians as Huey Lewis, Graham Parker and Albert Lee.

  • @knowvirtuoso Really? A legit release? Wait, this must be a UK release, right? I'm in the US, and I think the securing of the music rights to all the 50s/early 60s tunes in the first part of Stardust are what is preventing its legit release over here. Man, I could really use a multi-region DVD player! Thanks for the info, though.

  • @rpm451 you can get both films together on one dvd!!

  • nick lowe was in stardust tooo in a support band which seemed to consist of most of brinsley swartz

  • So grateful to see this special. One of the best things to come out of the oft-maligned New Wave safety net title was hearing such great 'dangerous' hits by Nick and Dave on the radio. Pure Pop for Now People, Get It, Tracks on Wax 4, and Labour Of Lust were a best friend to my ears back in 10th grade. Wish they had more success as Rockpile past Seconds Of Pleasure but sometimes things actually work out for the best the way they do. Cheers!

  • Deana3451 Thanks rock pile for giving us Dave Edmunds

  • @bushface1327 Yeah, that's Keith. He was in the film STARDUST with Edmunds, as a member of the band in the film - small role. He had played the same role in the film THAT'LL BE THE DAY (STARDUST was the sequel), which is the only one of the two films available legitimately (though, there are plenty of bootlegs around of STARDUST).

  • i love youtube! Everythings on here

  • Just heard that Yep Roc Records is going to release Nick Lowe's "Labor Of Lust" on March 15! YAY!
