Green Party MP Keith Locke explains what it meant for him to have hosted Uighur human rights activist Rebiya Kadeer. Ms Kadeer visited New Zealand this week (mid-October 2009) and hi-lighted the plight of the Uighur minority who inhabit the Xinjiang province of China. Keith points out that- more often than not - the media in New Zealand are only interested in reporting about free trade agreements with China and quite often ignore the human rights problems that exist in that country.
I am an honest supporter of the Australian Greens. NZ Greens, good on you!!!

Beautiful photos. Nice speech. The hostile feeling between Chinese people and other peoples such as Uyghurs, Tibets, Mongols... will increase and will burst again in a way that no body wants to see it unless Chinese Regime changes, unless the dictatorship rule collapses like the Former Soviet Union. Chinese nationalism will cost numbers of people's lives if it is not prevented. We realize it after like what happened in Kosova, like what is happening in Palastine, Ieraland.... So many examples.
