This time, you'll see a example of denial of service attack against a REMOTE windows vista SP1 box using metasploit framework on OpenSuSE 11.2. Vista (as the others new from MS like windows 7 and 2008 server) uses the Server Message Block V2, controlled by SRV2.SYS driver which can remotely receive crafted smb headers what results in the crash of system (BSOD). Yeah all we know that is an another stupid flaw from microsoft.

  • why did you bother setting the payload if this is a DoS?

  • @Soothsayer88 I had loaded the payload because i really didn't expected that the victim would had the firewall (probably) activated. The initial idea of this xpl was just grant control of the remote machine with the shell.

  • what's that oprating system is it the backtrack 4

  • @SAMY2690 No, it's OpenSuse 11.2. My prefered Linux distro.

  • what os r u running msf on?

  • @sonzy93 Linux OpenSuSE 11.2
