  • i really like the song if nething! I'm actually a member of a up and comming paranormal group and this was on our list of places we wanted to go investigate and this vid is an awesome look inside, ne ideas where we can get permission to go?

  • @Rummy370 Hey, thanks. I am not too sure where you can get permission to go into the jail. Last I heard they were fixing it up inside. They were removing the asbestos and lead paint last I heard. You might check with the Beauregard Tourist Commission to see about entry into the jail.

  • When I was 16 I was kept here from Jan 21 - Feb 8 1982 for a misdemeanor until I was extradited to Calcasieu Parish on a more serious charge. Facing the front of the jail, the third floor right side was my cell. One amusing memory I have was of one afternoon, as a line of school buses passed my ex-girlfriend waved to me as I looked out the window and she didn't know it was me. I could hear her yell, "that guy waved at me!" For the record, it is not haunted!

  • @ptrckbts Thats cool, Thanks for sharing. Are there any other stories you would like to share?

    Thanks again

  • Very cool ! Ive lived in DeRidder 44 years. I can't remember the exact year but our class toured the jail when it was still in use. A deputy even showed us some pieces of rope that were still tied (the knots) to the steel bars at the top of the stair case ceiling where the two guys were hung. Me and a buddy even did research on the murder and hangings and entered it in a school social studies fair which did place 2nd that year.

  • I'm livin in la

  • I inspected the entire Jail for Lead Base Paint several years ago. It was creepy. I was alone in the jail for hours. I could hear wreid sounds. The tunnel from the Jail to the Court House had water in it at that time. They have abated all the lead paint, and other hazards. The Beauregard Parish owned it. I hope they will now open it for touring.

  • haha - damn I am from that town - dont know how i found this.

Free Beatz @ my rocbattle page linked from my page come check me out. holla just click the video response above

  • Man I would so buy this and convert it to a home. Awesome architecture minus the bars and two tone walls

  • this is so awesome, i was born in DeRidder and lived there for many years, most of my family still lives there and i have drove by the jail many times but have never seen the inside of it

  • I would like to know who owns the place today. I didn't quiet get where that tunnel went to and for what purpose it was used.
