The Zonda looks so stupid and outlandish and that, I think, is what makes it so incredibly cool.

Sounds amazing!..

the Mercedes V12 engine in this pantomime horse sounds so very good!

It's funny how Zonda seems to be big and bulky when you watch it filmed with tv camera and very well proportioned and quite small when filmed with normal camcoder.
-
the best sound i've heard from a car actually but in my opinion it's dead ugly.
i don't like how the driver is placed so far forward but that goes to most supercars
-
But Top Gear did test the Ariel Atom and it beat a couple of pretty good cars.
-
Italian made, but a mercedes amg v12
-
And also don´t forget the "rule" that states that those cars need to go through a sleeping policeman and over speedbumps ;)
I also would like do see a Caterham CSR320 vs a Radical on the test track
They filmed this at an Airport?
I love that sound, and this car.

Yep - filmed at Dunsfold Aerodrome, where they film Top Gear. That 747 in the background is now used for films, and was in the Bond Film, Casino Royal.

Awesome time from the Ultima - sadly not tested by Top Gear themselves - in a similar way, they won't test a quick Caterham....we suspect that the big names don't want their hyper(expensive) cars beaten by - what they would term as - 'kit' cars, and Top Gear want the big names to show up and bring their mega-machines....

oh yes, and the Zonda did sound amazing - closest to an F1 car on the road (in noise terms) apart from perhaps the V10 of the Porsche GT.
The record lap was the one where he bounces over the kerb slightly - then he broke the car!

....love 'em or hate 'em the 3 presenters were excellent - very funny off camera and most bits done in one take - very proffesional. I'll be posting other pictures from the day in a week or so on our website
cheers

Hi all - Stig on this day was Ben Collins - apparently there are a 'few'! Very lucky in that we know one of the Dunsfold Park managers so got to watch - then went and watched the filming of the show itself (waiting list of 165,000 apparently, so pretty lucky!) - it was the one with the Millau Bridge, Ford GT, Ferrari 430 and Zonda - all of which were in the studio....
