FOX NEWS - Not welcome in UK (Down Goes Fox!)

The News of the World, a Sunday "trash" news paper has been shut down by Rupert Murdoch's UK News International organisation.

Question Time audience don't like Fox or Murdoch!

The paper is under investigation after stories it acquired were allegedly sourced through corrupt payments to police officers and by "hacking" into the voice mail accounts of murder victims, terrorism victims and the like.

In a national political program, actor Hugh Grant (a victim of the voice mail hacking) asks why should Murdoch / Fox news tell the people how to vote.

The audience agree with him.

@northernvoxmedia But then aren't we forgetting that the point of news - and I mean the real crux of it, before we had all this vox-pop filled CGI crap like ITN and Sky - is to report the facts? Facts are truth, and truth is by its very nature objective; so if you start having partial news then you will have subjective news reporting, and therefore you can not guarantee that you will be getting the facts.

I'd rather have no news than news that probably isn't true and factual.

Don't get me wrong, most of Murdoch's "news" is garbage propaganda, but you can't force people to only watch the news you approve of, no government has that right. Some of us don't need to be protected by a big nanny state in order to make an informed decision, some of us are actually intelligent enough to spot the good news sources from the bad, without restricting anybody's freedom of choice in the process.
