Intro for the new 2010 Hawaii Five-O the way it SHOULD have been edited. All of the video is from the show (found in the public domain, so please notify me if there is a copyright issue) PLUS, 1.7 seconds of completely original video that I created to add context to one of the editorial changes I made. The track is the original 1968 recording.

  • @XRaDer360: The broadcast version of the intro is not what CBS originally posted as a trial/teaser on Youtube. My video was made before the new soundtrack was recorded & before video of the new show was available. It was created as a response to the awful trial/teaser. Apparently CBS watched my vid as well as JediMasterShark's and DS9Sisqo's, etc and bought a clue.

See my other Hawaii 5-0 video for a 31second version using the new soundtrack.

  • Moment of silence today.

  • WAckdProductions: I didn't have any "new series" car-chase footage when this video was made. I wanted something to replace the "black Ford 180-shot" and the "zoom-to flashing blue dome light" so I used this.

  • Frost770: Excellent concept! I did that with the airplanes. If I had more video and a better editor it really would work well. But I'll give it a shot.

  • WooHoo 50,000 views! Whodathunkit? And we're beating DS9Sisko by 3,700!

  • neweast1: Agreed. But I think the DC-10 landing shot in the Gary Busey pilot was a better shot. Ideally they should have used a new "pan into the engine" shot (with fisheye lens & blackout filter) and then cut to a landing shot with a current airliner. Would LOVE to see a new 787 in UAL livery for this.

  • very very very cool

  • best theme old and new with always the master scene i like perfect

  • @MisterMasterShafter - i recommend u check it out, its not like a copy cat try on the original... plot goes hard... of course due to technology shots are better... also the actors are more athletic which means the epic fight scene here and there... most of the episodes go into the characters lives so every episode helps the plot... one of the few remakes i actually really enjoyed...

  • Awesome job!

  • I was impressed how the old version and the new version are pretty close. We watch this show almost every week and they use a lot of the same shots. Nice that CBS didn't massacre it.

  • /watch?v=iHPtr2-5Chg is a better version. I heard they made a newer version

  • very very impressed with what has been put together here. Big job. Well done

  • @TheEagleCon Absolutely agreed with you about the so-called `Remakes`. Some of them are really poor copy's from great 60 and 70th shows. Let the big idols rest in the olympic of the classic !

  • I saw the advert's for the remake but never found out when it was on, did I miss something? Or hasn't it started yet?
