I went out to gather up some garlic mustard for pesto and I found growing right along side of it cleavers and wild geraniums.

Cleavers is a grea addition to a salad and a good blood purifier, especially for those of us who eat seasonally and are coming out of a long winter of eating mainly meat and root crops. I just had a friend tell me that he puts about 1/2 cup cleavers into 1 cup white wine, lets it set for a month, strains it and drinks a tablespoon twice a day if he gets kidney stones. So there's something you can do medicinally with it.

Wild geraniums are high in tannins and therefor a good astrigent. You can use the roots in a tintures to clean wounds and burns, and use the above ground parts in a tinture to cure diarrhea.

As for garlic mustard, use it instead of basil in your favorite pesto recipe.
