@bindings26 Heating and cooling TOTAL, sould be about 60% of your TOTAL bill, the rest for lights, water heat, ect.. Give me numbers....did you have your HVAC replaced too? If your total bill used to be 150, than heating and cooling should have cost 85ish, and your saying this nocked 85is off the bill(you are using ZERO hvac?) you are obviously either an idiot, or not telling the truth

Im saving 60% on my monthly power bill since having my attic sealed 2 years ago, so im going to have to disagree with you here. At this rate, ill have my investment back in 3.5 more years..... I don't think you know much about this stuff or have had a negative experience with a cheap co?(can't speak for anything other than Icynene)... If installed correctly, it destroys powers bills....Forever. It is the epitome/definition of 'ROI'.

half pound foam is crap. you need real insulation get 2 pound foam applied by a certified applicator. all that foam still has to be vapour barried, and 2 pound foam has twice the r value.

Hey, didn't cost that much...heating bills are lower...cooling bills are lower in the summer...we have no complaints.

I spend nearly every day calculating ROI's for people, and trying to recommend or install items that ONLY pay themselves back w/in 10 years(most homeowners only live in a home for 5-7) Foam has never even made it into even the 20 year payback. Depending on how much interest you can make on your money, or how much interest you pay on a mortgage, some foam jobs actually end up costing more than they save per month because of interest on the initial cost of foam. 4-6 times the cost of fiber.

You seem unhappy to acknowledge it works for us...? I just posted this video because I thought the whole mess looked kinda cool. Didn't know it would prompt a big debate over efficiencies and costs. But it's been a great deal economically and comfort-wise for us.
