Peg Leg Pete always WAS Mickey's best arch rival. I miss the lusty humor in cartoons like these. Latina Minnie cursing out Mickey in Spanish is great! This was the studio's second year doing sound films, and Mickey playing a tune on the glasses and playing the piano perfectly was a really big deal to audiences back then.

I like how this takes place in Mexico.

Wow, Mickey sure does rebound fast, shrugging off Minnie's breaking a lamp over his head, then her assault of saloon wares. The tugging on her nose seems out of character, even for early Mickey. Gets surprisingly dark when Pete shows up, the guns blazing in the dark, and Minnie's screams are chilling. :D

The reason the current Disney folks are ashamed of these cartoons is they reveal that Walt Disney knew what to do and these current fools do not. They fear comparision. Disney's strength used to be their animation studio. Now they have theor animation done in South Korea by folks who do hideous animation. They cannot think of a story for everything has to be PC. The films they make are horrible.

That was great, but what I keep hearing now about Disney not being proud about their old cartoons and taking them away... That's just insane! It's a classic, it's a work of art and it's something to remember Walt Disney's old work and that's the truth!
