Rudy Simone gave a talk on Aspergers and Employment at the New Orleans Autism/Asperger Superconference with Temple Grandin and Eustacia Cutler in July 2011. In this excerpt, she discusses the "glass wall phenomenon" of autism and rather humorously describes some of the social situations and challenges she and other people on the autism spectrum face in their daily lives. She talks about soothing behaviors, maturity, tics, small talk, and more.
