  • how to remove the stupid software inside it coz it makes my ordinary student life more DIFFICULT~i want it to be just like a normal hard disk~like pendrive but with a large capacity of storage..hope u'll answer itt

  • @TheAngiejolie If you are using linux then execute the following commands

    sudo sh -c "echo UUID=`diskutil info /Volumes/WD\ SmartWare/ | grep 'UUID' | awk '{print $NF}'` none hfs rw,noauto 0 0 >> /etc/fstab"

    else in windows

    go to: Control Panel >>>> System >>>> Hardware >>>> Device Manager

    in the list that shows up, click on the little plus logo next to DVD/CD-ROM Drives

    there should one titled "WD Virtual CD 1110 USB Device" is your culprit.

    right click and disable it

    Go to WD website and download the new update for it which gives the option to disable the built in software.

    How do you do the same with mac? I also wanna use it as normal portable hard disk... I just wanna use my USB port and load files over to it.
