@flashmozzg Generally speaking, I thought PhysX deals more with particle effects like clouds and smoke, as opposed to things like gravity and other physical effects. Is this so?
it could be done by cpu if it's powerful enough (because nvidia don't care about optimization's for CPU for obvious reason - it was the only reason to buy latest nvidia cards (fermi series)). I've yet to meet the game that uses so advanced physics that it required special accelerator.

@prestb also physx is done by the GPU, havok by the CPU.

@prestb it was cutting edge at release. Newer havok versions are actually V. good.
