  • This stuff is great! This kind of stuff can be added to any martial arts...I wish I could find a teacher like this guy! I am in Beijing, China now and have lived her for four years...but nobody teaches combat here...just wushu nonsense.

  • Great! This fat bastard has been around since before the rice nooder! I bought his very first book in 1972! YOO HOO!

  • Sifu taught me when i was in 4th grade, hes the greatest, no question

  • Cont:

What was lost above: BUCK, and maybe Don, is the only guy I ever met that was scarier, in a professional manner, than Sifu Mallen.

I don't care what style you practice, and other styles have the iron bell, you have NO IDEA what it's like to come up against a shaolin master that has this thick, steel-ish muscle of the iron shirt

Buck's lineage BTW, Wong-fei->Lam sai->Lam jo->Buck. No BS, look the names up if you need to. You may not know it, but you have no biz knocking him for anything.

  • I'm glad I found this and can offer first hand advice to some SORELY mistaken people.

I studied with Sifu Mallen in UT for 3+ years. He was with buck since erly 70s and was maybe his #1 or sifu. You guys have NO IDEA what it's like to face someone who mastered tid sin kuen, developing a true "iron shirt" torso. Ask Sifu Don HambyofLA, going for his middle is the biggest and maybe last mistake you could make anyway! But BUCK is too nice to reallyhurt you! :) He is the best and a gentleman

  • All the people commenting on the Master's weight----This is your opinion and your cultural bias. I too think he should lose weight---but I'm Brazilian and that's how WE think. It does not mean everyone thinks this way. I once asked a Japanese Karate Master why he smoked? He laughed at me, and said I am not an athlete, I'm a fighter. We think fighters are athletes, but not everyone thinks this way. So learn Kung Fu from him, but diet from someone else. No master is "a one stop shop".

  • Sifu likes to party! I used to train with him back in the late 70's. He is not in great shape because of that, but as a member of the Black Belt Hall of fame, He's still deadly and will be until he's no longer on this planet.

If you're any where close, take his class. He's not as hard as he was back in the day!

    PEACE

  • Reminds me of my aikido days.

  • @hunggararam I RESPECT that explanation, but still argue that with dietary modifications, he'll lose the GUT.

  • @Soulblackman Sifu Kong Has gained weight because his knee is bad and he can't train as he used to, but do not let his gut fool you, he is still a very dangerous man.
