Put a rear fender on it. The last thing you want is your ass cheeks and nads caught between the rear wheel and subframe trying to choke down a 60HP engine. Besides that, nice bike!

wait a minute i have a 88 cr 500 and mine has 6 gears 1 down 5 up and it rises up every gear every powerband every twist of the throttle its a true adrenaline junky bike

@cefisherman bout 90 give or take a little depending if you have the gearing changed. my husaberg would do bout 98 and my cr500 is a little slower on top but its faster til bout 75

@B0DYR0T ya the front end does move a little at high 4th through fifth gear but its not as bad as i thought it would be. but after ridin it around ocotillo im never gona get a fourstroke again.

Yeah I was told that the Cr has stability issues at top speed but for my purposes (I'm a trail rider) I won't have to worry much about that. I do think the Kx has top end over the Cr though but then again there's no in between with the throttle when it comes to the Kx. I haven't gotten to ride the Widow Makers long enough to pick out all the differences but I sure did fall in love with them. Plus I'm 280 LBs, I could use the extra oomph. The place to ride around here is Wellsville.

Keep your money bro. The 500 has plenty of power especially accompanied by that FMF system. Never had a 500 (yet) but I would suggest FMF over Pro Circuit any day. Powercore baby. I do suggest getting one of those spines for the header so you don't bang it up. Plus it looks good too. Would love to own a Cr or Kx 500 some day. Hopefully here within the next 6 months.
