@Jaaaaam I think it's funny that you pick out one line from a song and say they don't deserve your respect. "I took a shuttle on a shock-wave ride, where people on the pen pull the trigger for accolade I took a bullet, and I looked inside and running through my veins an American masquerade". Those are some of the lyrics to the song Sam's Town. That's devoid of soul? That's overproduced? Give me a break you moron.

The killers did good, I mean its not like this of course, because its a COVER not suposed to sound exactly like the original its supposed to be their version, and it is good, this is better but dont say The killers suck, because they dont, dont be so small minded.

WHO THE FUCK IS THE KILLERS?????????? Joy Division is a band completely of their own and way ahead of their time having their own world so to speak....... a cover is just a cover and when it comes to other bands covering Joy Division song, I just don't fucking care!!! fuck the covers coz every Joy Division song is way way more potent so just stick to the original and throw away the crappy cover versions!!! cheers!!! Long Live Joy Division!!!!

Don't compare The Killers version with this. Its just a tribute of them. They didnt try to be as good as the original version because its just impossible for anybody to do it.

@overcastx3 I don't care if they're mainstream or not. New Order sold at least six million of Substance. Mainstream doesn't equal bad. Great pop is a thing to be cherished. The problem isn't that they're mainstream it's that they're not independent but "indie" in the same way as Snow Patrol. Slick, overproduced and devoid of soul. I checked them out before slagging them off and any band who can say "I've got soul but I'm not a soldier" with a straight face deserve zero respect.

Great song. Painful.

@Jaaaaam I know this is an old comment, but seriously, wtf? While that was a very well written comment, there's not much truth to it. The only Killers song I ever hear on the radio is 'When You Were Young'. They're not "mainstream," and they've not gotten nearly as much recognition as people would like to think. They've got an independent sound, some of it is very 80's, some of it is pop, some rock, even country in some songs. You can't just stick them in one genre because you heard one cover.

I love the original version but I don't think The Killers did a bad job at all.
I am dying to know what this song is about. Love the second verse. Visual imagery overload

The Killers version is flat. There's nothing interesting to it. The original makes you sit up and take notice. The Killers don't.
