2007 Hero - Bill Ruckelshaus

Stepping up to the challenge. Gaining trust. Getting others to go beyond where they would go alone. Defying the expected. These actions all describe Bill Ruckelshaus and his long and storied career in protecting the environment at the state, national, and international level.

WEC honors Bill as a 2007 Hero not for all he has done for the environment in the past, but what he accomplished in this last year. In two words: Puget Sound. As an outcome of a year's work, he has helped position our region to respond and step up on Puget Sound as never before.
