Chair's welcome:
It is our pleasure to welcome you to the first 3D3CWorlds meeting.

3D3C Worlds will change, enhance, and at times hamper, how we learn, enjoy, work, and perform other human actions. High levels of 3D3C (3D, Community, Creation, and Commerce) must be attained in order to harness the potential.
This event will benefit from the fruits of research conducted by the members of the Meraverse1 consortia.

The goals of the Metaverse1 projects was to provide a standardized global framework that enables the interoperability between virtual worlds (as for example Second Life, IMVU, Entropia Universe) and the real world (sensors, actuators, vision and rendering, social and welfare systems, banking, travel, real estate). The 'access for all' was a particular focus point aiming at the eInclusion of minorities in the society. (Metaverse1 projects were conducted under the ITEA2 Eureka EU framework).
