Prop 8 was purely motivated by religious dogma and has no rational merit. Apparently the Church of Latter Day Saints and the Roman Catholic Church want to throw out the US Constitution and make this a theocracy. The Prop 8 supporters in the Prop 8 trial had a difficult time defending why Prop 8 was necessary.

Leaders of Shiloh Baptist Church in NEWARK, N.J. hired Chavalis T. Williams as pastor with full knowledge he had previously been convicted in Florida. Darrell Gilyard, an African-American preacher at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Fla pleaded guilty to molesting a 15yo girl.

Sadly that doesn't sound surprising as the ones who want to "defend" marriage and family so religiously passionate are the ones that it should be protected from. Was that title 26 you mentioned earlier going to be used against the Mormons, Catholics or anyone who helped that prop? I think all those "religions" that were involved should have there holy tax exempt revoked permanently and finned but that's just me.

@MrSinister84 - Hey now, it ain't just the cathy-licks and the polygamormons that molest kids, that crap happens just as easily in other factions of Christianity, it just doesn't get reported on as often. Lesse, there's Holly Barnes a FEMALE teacher at Grace Baptist Church who was arrested for here involvement with a 14yo male, then there's Chris Settlemoir who was a principal at Warren Baptist School, I'm sure these aren't the only two... I just searched "christian + molestation" in Google.
