Shut up. Its obvious that Villeneuve overshot the corner, no doubt about that. The former F1 commentator James Allen agreed with my opinion. Read his book and stop attacking other people for telling the truth. Schumacher won seven championship titles, he is a true sport legend.

@olehomer88 You are retarded. Of course Frentzen is taking the regular racing line, he is taking the optimal line. Villeneuve is trying to pass, you can never pass someone if you take a normal racing line.
-
@Barnakos YOu don't know how right you are mate. Schumacher tried to unsettle Villeneuve before the race. However, it didn't work and only fired up JV more. And your last sentance is spot on. Schumi was a great driver but not a credit to F1.

@olehomer88 I suggest you read the following book.
Michael Schumacher: The Edge Of Greatness by James Allen. Everything you need to know about what happened in Jerez is in that book. Quotes from Schumacher, Jean Todt, fellow drivers etc etc etc. Trying to say that this wasn't deliberate is as out there as saying Maradonna didn't handball that goal in 86, or Tyson didn't really bite off Evander Holyfield's ear. Also, look at the onboard from Schumacher's car. IT IS AS CLEAR AS DAYLIGHT

Give me the quote where Michael said that Jerez 1997 was his fault. I remember myself that he was very disappointed and angry about the bad critics he received after this race. Ok, you right, Senna is not the the case. But if this is the most shameful moment in F1 how would you rate Sennas move in Japan 1990 against Prost. This "accident" was far worse and Ayrton even become world champion that year. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
-
@olehomer88 Schumacher admitted it!!! There is no argument here. He did it, was punished for it& still calls it his most shameful moment in F1. As for your comment about Senna. Why do Schumacher fans always resort to insulting Senna? Why can't people accept that both were great drivers. Also, Senna over rated? I suppose you'll be saying next that Muhammed Ali wasn't that good, or Pele was over hyped, or maybe that Tiger Woods was just lucky.

Look how Frentzen behind him drive through the corner comparing to Villeneuve. He didnt drive through that corner in the normal way. The former F1 commentar James Allen said in his book that Villeneuve without hiting Michael would miss the corner and move into the gravel. Look at his speed. You cant blame Michael, he just turned in for the corner, Jacques had too much speed and they collided. Michael is the best driver, far better than the overrated Senna.

@justmedawg I agree with you about Villeneuve. he could have gone to be a fantastic, multiple world champion but he got lazy after his first, and only, world title. I think the reason that so many people have a problem with Schumacher is that many of his actions were premeditated &, other then Jerez 97, didn't apologise once. I've just finished reading a book about Schumacher by James Allen & it gives an insight into the problems that other drivers had with him. Alonso & Coulthard especially

@chrismarkbicknell the same could be said for Villeneuve being extremely lucky that Williams were the best that year. Just look at the rest of his career with BAR and BMW. He was clearly aiming for the money, not the thrill of the sport even though he claims he wants to return to F1 now. Schumi is flawed but I doubt theres anybody out there who hasnt made mistakes in their careers in F1...

@olehomer88 That's ridiculous. Schumacher himself admitted to and apologised for this incident. that was how he ended up doing "community service" for the FIA by doing various road safety courses with Max Moseley. Also, the FIA stripped him of all of his championship points for that season., This was a deliberate attempt to take somebody out. In no way was it Villeneuve's fault.
I was laughing my ass off as Villeneuve drove the Championship home after this cheating by Schumacher. There was a god this day ahahahahaah Schumi

Schumacher was the most unfair driver ever in f1,he was talented,no doubt, but if Senna didn't crash deadly he wouldn't be a 7 time champion, after that he was lucky to have the best car,he was good, but not as good as his titles and victories would tell.
