Coatings have little do with how a line will perform, just as a runners shoes will have little to with it. If the runner is built to run, the runner will out perform. Taper is king and what truly matters, all the rest is horse crap, and marketing genius to fool the consumer. Tool!

I agree with THALIDO. The Rio Gold is a wonderful fly line. The taper offers versatility unmatched in other lines, and it's as slick as two seals in a barrel of snot. This video was also informative--thanks.

The new Rio Gold line is one of the best I have used. Their XS coating has taken their lines to a new level. They are superb.
