I DESPERATELY wanted one of these, but don't think I ever got one. LOL just seeing this commercial brings it all back. But I agree with 1952kid, the commercials were probably WAY better than the real thing. It was usually that way back then...
My Mom bought me one of those for my seventh birthday. I loved it, It made tasty sno cones too. I believe mine was broken after the summer was over a year later, After the sweet stuff that it had included in the box ran out. My dad bought Kool Aid and we used that instead.
I remember the commercials being much better than the real toy , and after a half hour , you put it away . Or something had 'C' batteries and they went dead after one day, and your parents didn't want to spend money on more batteries .I do remember my mother rotating our toys every month , so they were new again and interesting . I saw this Snow Cone toy for 30.00 at a antique store.
@symbiote LOL...Any of us who were kids during that time era had crazy toys like that. They'd advertise them shamelessly during the Saturday morning cartoons and then we kids would beg for them for our birthdays or Christmas. I have to admit, I do miss those days. : )
I had one of those things when I was a kid. Got it for my 7th birthday, which is in mid June. Me and another kid were gonna open up a snowcone stand with it. We were in business for one day. Ice melts awfully fast in the Louisiana summer heat. Nowadays some govt. scumbag would probably come close down any kid who tried to open up a snowcone stand and put the parents in jail. Sad, what's become of this country.
