Saving the environment can also mean saving some money. By reusing these produce bags as scrubbies, not only can you save some money, cut down on plastic trash, but also they come cleaner than any other scrubby you pay money for. This is recycling put to immediate use!

  • @syazuaty ~ Again I am WAY behind replying to you! Please forgive me!

Glad you like this idea! We don't buy 'scrubbies' any more...just use these until we either lose them or they need replacing. Free is always a good price! (o:

  • Use to store wild mushrooms. I went with a hunters club once. Morels

  • Ah! GREAT idea!

We (okay no *I*) eat a lot of mushrooms and yep, they need room to 'breath' - GREAT new use! Thanks!

  • Hi!

The biggest tip would be to go all cloth....but that's hard to do. I LOVE flour sack clothes but they are super hard to find.

Another idea would be to take a knife or razor and cut the tube in half all the way through to be about the size of a toilet paper role - (if you're using 'select-a-size' then they are tiny!) and they still fit on the roller, you just use only one side at a time.

Got my wheels turning now...I'll have to think more on other options!

    Best Blessings!

  • So do you have any tips on using less paper towels? I am a paper towel aholic! I am beginning to think that as long as they are there, I will always reach for them. I have recently found some light duty sponges to use on my ceramic top stove, so no more paper towels there, but I need to cut back more.

Thanks so much for sharing with us. I love how real and practical you are!

  • Thank you for your kind words! I'm happy you're enjoying these!

Sounds like you're doing well with simplifying and your attitude is really a plus for making that change!

    Keep it up!

    I'm happy to help!

    Best Blessings!

  • Brilliant! I am loving these tips. I have been looking for more and more ways to stay away from the stores. It not only saves money, but saves time to not be at the store. Plus, in this economy, simple things like this help make us self sufficient. I am working on homemade cleaners and am saving a ton of $ and many hours on trips to the store! It's not only a more frugal life, it is a simpler life!

  • Good point!

    And keeping bait live too!

Since I don't fish, this doesn't cross my mind! (o:

    Glad you shared!
