Weapon and Costume thingimajig

well i'm not dead yet, just thought i'd give a quick update on what i've been doing XD

anyway, this video shows the one piece of my first real costume i will be making, which is a human-dragon hybrid, so far i just have the one glove, i need to find the other one XD, but i'm starting the feet tonight!

then onto the weapons!

the first one i show you is the latest wooden Katana i have made, based off of one in Soul Calibur 3 or 4, it has a edged blade whichis one piece with the handle, the cross-guard is sloted over the blade and is made of the same wood as the rest of the sword. handle has 2 more pieces glued onto it, one on each side, to add thickness and a better grip, handle is wrapped in gaffer tape, blade is wrapped in electrical tape.

next up is the first ever wooden sword i made! which is much thicker the the other one, as i didn't have a Jigsaw back then, and i didn't want to split the wood with my terrible hand-saw skills, so i made the blade quike thick.
handle is once again one piece with the blade,with the foam Cross-guard slotted over it. handle is wrapped in electrical tape, blade is wrapped in duct tape.

next is the second katana i made, again a fairly thick blade, and this one is all once piece, cross-guard and all. this one also has a edged blade, but it is more rounded and therefore slightly safer then the first one. no tape at all on this one, insted it has been coated in a coat of WD-40 to seal it.

finaly is my latest weapon, this one is still a WIP but i really wanted to show you it. it is the Keyblade my Kingdom Hearts OC (Corey Sulivan) uses in his Blazer drive form; Draconic Birthright. it will be fully detailed on both sides, with an edged blade, and this one will be painted. the colours are explained in the video, but if you need a clearer picture of them, then http://dragon-fang2.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d47aksn that link has a coloured in verson of it about half way down.
