@seanannershutchCoDRE: That's a Candypop Bud. If you throw Pikmin in there it will spit out Blue Pikmin seeds. It's basically a way to convert Pikmin to other colors. Outside of one small part of the game (see Part 22), you never really have to use them.

I personally think, since Red Pikmin have that long pointy nose, they can peck enemies, instead of just hitting them.

Red Pikmin are actually stronger in battle, but that's the only way it's stronger.

Pretty sure at least in Pikmin 1 there is no difference between strengths of the colors...just the fire/water/bomb-throwing diffs
