Actually, the thinness is not due to lack of power. The camcorder is not picking up bass registers very well. What compounds this problem in the recording is that the mic is so close to the piano (outdoor concert: the piano was projected over speakers). A mic that is close to the piano strings produces a VERY dry recording, which is great for jazz but terrible for classical. Unfortunately, this close mic placement is necessary outdoors because a mic farther away would have trouble.

A good performance which sounds a little "thin"....
Is that due to the recording? Maybe you should try to use more body weight when you play "forte"....?
