First time ever....a duo music lesson ..dad & me. As far as I remember music has been all around at home since my early childhood as my dad, now 78 years of age, played a couples of instrument i.e violin, trumpet, saxophone , electrical piano & accordeon. He loves to arrange the music as what he likes although he is not a musician but a mathematics-teacher instead. He taught me to play violin when I was a little girl but I was far from seriously practice so I would say I knew a bit. Since I'd earned my Ph.D in science & been busy with work then later on I realized that I really need some kind of music for my soul. At the moment I'm keen to start playing violin again with a great deal of music appreciation than ever that push me. The Malaysian traditional song of Burung KaKa Tua was picked up as a duo music lesson for a number of reasons. For instance, it's very cheerful music, easy to follow, lovely lyrics and it shows the influence of South East Asian culture particularly Muslim way of life in Malaysia, Indonesia and Southern Thailand; Pattani, where which I'm currently working. This music was arranged in such a short notice as I was coming home to visit my mum and dad over a festive season 2012. Thanks so much dad..to help & guide me through this enjoyable lesson within 2 hrs practice. Although we are more familiarized this song with the rumba style, eventually waltz was chosen with respect to the original of this traditional song as indicated in the music sheet. Hope you enjoy it..LOL..xxxWanchamaixxx .:-))
It's very beautiful to see both of you play this song together. At the first sight I'm surprised to see my grandfather and you did it. How smart you are because I knew that you just start playing violin almost a year. I think my grandfather keep on playing this piano regulary so he looks so young even though he's 78. I like to see my grandmother face in next video because when I miss all of you, I can watch yours video from Youtube. Lots of Love from your nephew (Tan) <3 ;D
