I'm a farmer: animals in captivity, when they get out, just run around and stay close to home. Why? BECAUSE IT'S THEIR HOME, DUMBASSES! If they wanted to go to the jungle, they would kill this lady and run away! Their laying on their backs, purring while being groomed: and they get pissed when she stops. What the fuck do you find cruel in that? Have you ever even SEEN an animal up close much less owned one? Do you realize meat comes from animals? Are you a vegan? Or just dumb?

i love exotic pets. so exciting

So what is wrong with more people having more animals? If just a few people are allowed to have them, and they go extinct in the wild (which they will because human encroachment cannot be stopped), there will not be enough genetic base for them to survive in captivity, either. Captive husbandry of the great cats is their only realistic hope for survival, and they need to be in the hands of as many responsible keepers as possible.

How many wild animals do *you* actually know to generalize that you can understand their behaviours?
To keep the sanctuaries going, they charge?
Why do the trainers and handlers renting out their animals to the entertainment industry do you? Oh, right......to keep on entertaining! A few laughs and a good thrill is always equal to the WILD animal's life - bred, born, and, died in captivity - for the captive audience.
-
Well, how many private owners do you actually know?
Hmmm, sanctuariers don't profit? Then why do they exhibit other peoples animals and charge for it?
-
Yes, because meeting the demand for private pet owners and their whims, and, the entertainment industry and their whims, for the animal to be a certain way, according to THEIR criteria, really does, "logically" promote responsible breeding and ethical treatment of animals. EPIC FAIL IN RATIONALIZATION on your part.
-
The people using animals for entertainment, or as pets are doing more for conservation than any sanctuary. They breed their animals for posterity. The current crop of sanctuaries are little more than 'concentratin camps' where animals are sent to die without passing on their genes. Any keeping of animals without an ability to responsibly breed is NOT conservation.
-
Let santuaries who do not profit out of making animals into entertainment worry about conservation programs. Don't try to sugar-coat your selfish exploitation and greed by justifying what you do.

Breeding a captive population will not save the tigers. To save them, conservation of their habitat needs to be done. Then, the wild numbers will rise. Why breed for lives in captivity?

i heard an orangutan big a guys balls off lol. and they are like 5 times stronger than humans. it could kill you in a hit. plus they are endangered.
Isn't keeping big cats kinda cruel? Like, people can't really give it the proper space that it needs.

Tigers are going extinct in the wild; what is better, saving them in captivity or letting them go totally extinct, forever? And big cats do just fine in captivity. If the conditions were not optimal, the animals wouldn't be willing to breed and reproduce
