Larry Carlton Interview (Guitar Lesson MA-002) How to play

In Novemeber 2008, Larry Carlton came to do a workshop for Guitar Getaways and The Guitar Institute. He generously gave me a short interview to share with you good people who visit my web site. I also got to play one of his most famous songs with him at the end of his clinic. What an honor. And he a totally cool down to earth dude!

This was the first time I got to interview one of my childhood guitar hero's and I must admit I was a bit nervous, and I forgot most of the questions I wanted to ask, so it's not the most insightful interview ever, but I hope to meet him again this year and get a better one!

Brilliant interview.

What's so great about the interview is imo, the fact that you're having a conversation with him, you ask him stuff you are interested to know from him.

And coincidently there's a camera.

It goes from there, the interesting questions, and really caring for what he has to say, not interrupting him.

Justin, he seems like a gentle and generous musician - but just like a guitar really only "sounds good" in the hands of a good player, perhaps your very clear and thoughtful questions gave us this video's quality. This is perhaps the best conversation with Carlton yet recorded. Great work Justin.
