Members of the Crow Indian Tea Party gathered at the Two Leggins bridge on the Big Horn River near Hardin Monday to demand the sale of water rights for the Many Stars energy project be undone.
The rights were offered by Crow Tribal Chairman Cedric Black Eagle without first seeking the approval of water rights share holders, said Tea Party members, including founder Karmelita Plains Bull Martin.
The tribe is working with the Australian-American Energy Co. to build the $7.5 billion Many Stars coal-to-liquid plant on the reservation.
