  • @EBB47 He's saying the biceps dont help the punch because the biceps purpose is to contract the arm quicker. Theyre saying that the triceps are the main aspect when DELIVERING a powerful punch, not taking it back. The sifu is saying people tense up the biceps when punching which doesnt help anything.

  • That's so stupid... I SWEAR! There's so much wrong statements and ideas about muscle in this video.... Here's one thing... when you're chain punching.... what pulls your elbow back to deliver the next punch... THE BICEP! This video... BS

  • @Pezzy54321 People still believe in the old musclebound myth. No matter how much evidence you give them and no matter that all the top athletes in every sport now train with weights, you'll always hear bullshit like this. I bet if you told him that you do chinups and pushups or dips, he wouldn't have a problem with that. But if you show him a barbell, suddenly you hear all the bullshit.

  • I find it strange how they speak against bruces biceps when they are crucial for pulling. They'll only stand in the way if contracted at same time. And if the guy in the video was to disagree with me there, then why also does he state that they work on the lat muscles? Their main function is pulling the elbow back. Which is the opposite of forward. Where your opponents face is. don't mean to sound blunt.

  • the little bald headed guy in the clip isnt doing very well he got beat down 3 times haha

  • In any form of fighting training the body is key. I like Wing Chun but Leung Ting is whack. Bruce said it himself, "too many martial artists focus to much on just learning technique, and not enough on training the body." Proper conditioning and technique mastery is the key to a truly powerful/accurate/fast strike.

  • @SkemeKOS I agree, this whole show is garbage far as I see. talking about certain muscle group is a weaken & their encourage muscle imbalance. come on, physics, body mechanics, anatomy, training, what makes the move not this bicep bs.

  • These wing chun guys talk bad about Bruce Lees body, but I guarantee that Bruce Lee had a much harder punch than any of these guys and would completely destroy them in a real fight, regardless of whether he has "whooping" biceps or not.

These guys are deluded IMO. I understand what they are trying to say but there are needs for weight training also...its all about finding a balance.

  • @IMBW89 You are totally correct.

  • Leung Ting has no idea how the biceps work, apparently. During a punch, whether your biceps are large or small makes no difference because when punching properly you won't be using them anyway.
