A7 Kassel - Bad Hersfeld, Germany

A drive on the Autobahn A7, southbound from Kassel towards the Kirchheimer Dreieck (Interchange) near Bad Hersfeld. This video features the six-laned A7, which is also one of the steepest Autobahnen in Germany, with grades up to 8%. This was recorded on a sunday, so there aren't a lot of trucks doing 30 km/h uphill that day, but usually, there are a lot.

I don´t like that section of the A7. Bad surface and steep hills. A real pre WWII design.

My 1.5 litre Diesel (a Renault) does 75 miles to the gallon on motorways.

75 mpg? I'm talking about US Gallons, but it's even much with Imperial Gallons.

US Gallon = 3.79 liters

Imperial Gallon = 4.55 liters

i use to run the B27 beside the A7 whenever i have to travel south. not a high speed road but no steeps. just relaxed driving.

I calculated in US Gallons. And 75 mpg is my average. I drive in 5th gear at 50 kph. And max 110 kph on the autobahn. So i get around 1400 kilometer between the pumps.

Very cool. I understand about the acceleration. My Neon's not very good at acceleration.
