Yeah, I drove through one of those one time in Georgia and didn't know the lane ended like that. I almost got run over. :-(

To me too, I had to look at it 3 times before I understood the configuration.
It's said that they're very common in Countries like Danmark or the UK but I've never seen them in Belgium before.

ok. Gelukkig maar dat het beter rijdt daar want die werkzaamheden hebben toch lang geduurd. Maar ik deel je mening over de twee rijstroken; dat lijkt me heel erg krap! :s

We have A LOT of them in the Netherlands. In fact, the way you have them in the US (first the right lane merges left, then that lane merges left as well) is unknown in the Netherlands.
Many people have problems using them, so the capacity remains underutilized.

Traffic signs, electronic signs are also in the bottom of the poster.

It's electronic traffic management. If there is congestion ahead, the electronic signs automatically show a lower speed limit. It reduces accidents.

het is heel indrukwekkend wat is gedaan in Eindhoven! Nu dat de werken achter de rug zijn, is er al een positief effect vastgesteld?

Het is nog niet helemaal voltooid, maar de doorstroming is al stukken beter. Wel betwijfel ik of de hoofdrijbaan met 2 rijstroken breed genoeg is.
