Due to electrification of the Mound tunnels at the west end of Edinburgh Waverley, steam locomotives are prohibited from operating through.

To get the SRPS railtour train into Waverley for the Edinburgh and Fife Circle tour, Class 55 Deltic "Royal Scots Grey" had to bring the empty carriages in from the east end of the station. LNER/BR K4 61994 "The Great Marquess", currently on the back, will then be at the front of the train for it's departure, initially east before turning onto the Edinburgh South Suburban line.
Thanks are due to Martin Walker / Beaver Sports who waived the hire fee of the Deltic.
