http://peplers.blogspot I recorded this at the 2010 Weald Woodfair. Very impressive to see it done. It's actually quite simple, using the chainsaw to cut out quarters of the log leaving a cross shape, and then boring through to make the links. The tricky bit seemed to be hollowing out those links afterwards. It took him about an hour to complete the job.

  • That's awesome, I'd like to try that some day!

Just need to find a nice big long log, longer the better?

  • @andrewwoodside I guess you can start with just 3 links? I've never tried it myself, but would like to have a go some time...

  • Very good man. I have some logs and i want to start making some figures. I love chainsaw carving. It's faster and detailes at the end is not so long when u remove the big parts. My teacher always told me" Carving is just remove the parts extra:))".

    God bless
